GREEN ADVANTAGE CERTIFICATION EXAM PREPARATION

Green Advantage® is the country’s longest-standing green certification for builders and building-related practitioners. Green Advantage® Certified Practitioners demonstrate a foundational knowledge, comprehension, application and ability to analyze green construction concepts, materials, and practices. Contractors and sub-contractors with Green Advantage® certified team members can also contribute to an innovation point in the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) rating system. This class will prepare you to take the Green Advantage® Commercial exam, which requires a score of 75% or higher to pass. Particular emphasis is given to understanding the role of construction personnel in improving the environmental and health attributes of the built environment. The class will focus on each of the six topic areas covered by the exam, including:
- Basic Understanding of Sustainability and Green Building
- Site and Land Use
- Water Efficiency
- Energy and Atmosphere
- Materials
- Indoor Environmental Quality

The class will go over all materials necessary to pass the exam and will provide study materials and sample quizzes for all participants. Participants are encouraged to register for the Green Advantage® Commercial exam prior to starting this class and to schedule the exam for shortly after the completion of the final class as the focus will be on preparing people to pass this exam.

LEED GREEN ASSOCIATE PREP FOR EXAM
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - Accredited Professional

This 12 hour course gives an overview of the information covered by the exam. Participants will gain the knowledge necessary to understand the green building process and effectively participate in a LEED project team. The class will go over the USGBC and the LEED Rating Systems. Specific topics include:
- Synergistic Opportunities and LEED Application Process
- Project Site Factors
- Water Management
- Project Systems and Energy Impacts
- Acquisition, Installation, and Management of Project Materials
- Stakeholder Involvement in Innovation
- Project Surroundings and Public Outreach

The class will include sample quizzes, practice exams, and study materials. Participants are encouraged to procure copies of the official reference materials, most of which are available from the United States Green Building Council – www.usgbc.org.
PLEASE NOTE: To take the LEED Green Associate exam, you must have previous experience supporting a LEED-registered project, working in a sustainable field of work, or attending an education program that addresses green building principles. Attending this course will satisfy the education program requirements necessary to sit for the exam
